Dr. Sundar - (MD & DNB)

Dr Sundar is now one of the leading Nephrologists in the country and a much sought after speaker at conferences not just in Bangalore but in places as far away as Kolkata. He had a brilliant undergraduate and postgraduate career and studied in some of the most prestigious colleges in India.

  • MBBS & MD from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal
  • Diplomate of the National Board in Nephrology from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore

During his tenure as the Head Of Department of Nephrology at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore, Dr. Sundar was inspired and motivated to set up KANTI. Since then there was no looking back. Today, Dr. Sundar is one of the senior directors at KANTI.

Dr. B Manoharan

  • Graduated from Ambedkar Medical College
  • Completed his MD (General Medicine) at Command Hospital
  • Fellowship in Nephrology from Christ Church Hospital New Zealand


Dr Manoharan’s special interest is Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) and is solely responsible for the active CAPD program at KANTI.


Dr. Ajit K. Huilgol

  • MBBS from Bangalore Medical College
  • MS in general surgery from the prestigious Post Graduate Institute Of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, from where he trained in transplant surgery too.


Dr Huilgol had a brilliant undergraduate and postgraduate career, winning the Best Outgoing Graduate from Bangalore Medical College. He was also a medalist at the PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Dr Huilgol was part of the team that did the first successful kidney transplant in Karnataka in 1983. Today, he is the Director & the Chief of Transplant Surgery at KANTI, which he also helped establish. He has an extensive experience of over 1400 transplants. His special interests include transplanting kidneys with multiple arteries and with double ureters.

Dr. Karunagaran S. Ganesan

  • MBBS from Bangalore Medical College
  • MS from Bangalore Medical College


Dr Ganesan is an expert in the construction of arterio-venous fistulae and a specialist in transplant kidney biopsies. He is well experienced in donor nephrectomies of which he has done over 1000 so far.

Dr. S Sudhakar

  • MBBS from Madras Medical College
  • FRCS from England


Dr. Sudhakar has worked in the UK for about 7 years and later he joined as a senior tutor in the Urology Department at St. John's Medical College, Bangalore. He joined KANTI in 2001 and is now an integral part of the Institute. Dr Sudhakar is interested in conducting drug trials for multinational companies and is now involved in the worldwide Everolimus Phase 4 trials for Novartis.

Dr. M A Sreenivasa Prasad

Dr. Sreenivasa Prasad graduated from Gulburga Medical College in 1987. Since the inception of KANTI, Dr. Sreenviasa has served as a RMO. Dr Prasad’s forte is communication skills and in the pre-transplant workup of patients about which he is very meticulous. In fact, no transplants are performed at KANTI without Dr Prasad’s authorization.


Dr. Madhu Sudhan Raju

Dr Raju graduated from the Devaraj Urs Medical College in Kolar. He then worked in Australia for a year before returning to India. After gaining experience in Intensive Care for over 6 years in Mallya and other Hospitals in Bangalore, he joined KANTI in 2005. Dr Raju is well versed in the insertion of central vein catheters for dialysis.
